From each angle you view this - quality, precision and especially the warmth of hundreds of volunteers - this is a major story. All of these volunteers need a solid foundation from which they can conduct their operations daily.

The Center For Aid -Education, Welfare and Medical Works in Jerusalem is one of the most prominent philanthropic and social welfare organizations working on behalf of the underprivileged. Not wait for appeals, we seek them out: children living in poverty, the sick, handicapped, veteran, new immigrants, homeless, widows, orphans, victims of terrors, etc.

You may meet them at the " French Hospital", or at the summer camp for children of disadvantaged families, bringing warm clothing to the homes of the elderly, as well as heating fuel, distributing weekly parcels containing all the basic foodstuffs in unbelievable numbers - 250,000 a week, monetary assistance especially for unfortunate people in severe financial straits and distress. Perhaps nobody is without bread, but there are plenty of hungry people who eat only bread.Someone tells about the help they extend to bring bodies of Jews who died abroad, a famous physician was astonished by their care for the sick and their families.

The Center maintains regular contact with leading doctors and surgeons in Israel and abroad. This contact is utilized for the benefit of the sick and their relatives, all without any payment. Brought in experts to treat the adults and children who are suffering from anxiety. Elderly, who were confined to their homes, received all their supplies from The Center.

The help is open to all, without publicity or fanfare, huge sums are distributed in both cash and food and the recipients received the aid secretly, to keep them from suffering embarrassment.
